History: Founded in 1809, Miami University bears the name of the Myaamia people whose homelands are here in the Miami Valley. The university maintains a strong reciprocal relationship with the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma grounded in our shared commitment to learning and each other.
Location: Our main campus is located in Oxford, Ohio, with regional campuses in Hamilton, Ohio; Middletown, Ohio; the Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester, Ohio; and the John E. Dolibois European Center in Luxembourg.
Enrollment (fall 2021): 16,500+ undergraduates and 2,300+ graduate students study at our Oxford campus, 4,000+ study on regional campuses, and nearly 200 students per year study in Luxembourg. Miami students come from all 50 states and 79 countries.
Calendar: First (fall) semester begins in late August and ends in mid-December. Our optional Winter Term runs for three weeks in January. Second (spring) semester begins in late January and ends in early May. Summer courses are also offered. For a complete schedule, see the academic calendar.
Degree Programs: On the Oxford campus, Miami offers bachelor's degrees in over 120 areas of study. Graduate students choose from more than 70 master's and doctoral degree programs. Several associate degrees, as well as bachelor's degrees, are also offered through study at the regional locations.
