East London Awaits!

Campus safety
If you choose to live on campus, rest assured that your safety is our top priority. Our campus is monitored via CCTV at all times, and there is an on-campus security team 24 hours a day who patrol the Student Village. A telephone with a dedicated emergency line is in every dorm, available any time to assist you.

Accommodation
We are one of the few universities in London to offer on-campus accommodation. Our stunning waterfront Student Village is home to more than 1,200 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Housing is available to all University of East London students, irrespective of whether you are studying at the Docklands or Stratford campus. A free bus service connects the two campuses. Find out more at uel.ac.uk/accommodation.

Federal aid and funding
UEL is one of the few UK universities that accepts the FAFSA (and Veterans Affairs benefits through the GI Bill). We have a dedicated federal aid officer who will guide you through the process of transferring your federal loans over to the United Kingdom. You may also apply for a private loan such as Sallie Mae alongside your FAFSA loans, as long as the total amount borrowed does not exceed your total cost of attendance. Our FAFSA code is G30450. Contact our Federal Aid Office at federalaid@uel.ac.uk, or visit uel.ac.uk/internationalfunding-for-north-american-students.

Student visa
To study a full-time degree at UEL, you will need to apply for and obtain a Student visa to enter the United Kingdom and begin your studies, unless you hold a UK or EU passport.
