Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance
In the Bachelor of Fine Arts program, our demanding conservatory-level training in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and related techniques combined with targeted allied studies will help you develop the skills and artistry necessary for a successful career as a performer or choreographer. Bachelor of Arts in Dance
Combining our rigorous, well-rounded training in all techniques with a purposeful liberal arts curriculum, our Bachelor of Arts program is ideal for those pursuing dance teaching, studio management, pre-athletic training, performance, dance studies, choreography, performing arts studies, or other related fields. Arts and Entertainment Management
Whether you want to become a theatre manager, a producer, an artist manager, a performing arts presenter, or an artist who owns a studio or a company—or if you’d just like to have a stronger background in the business aspects of the dynamic, multibillion-dollar arts and entertainment industry—Dean will help you hone the competitive edge you need to grow into an organizational leader for any entertainment-related business with the Arts and Entertainment Management major. From day one, you’ll explore current trends in live arts and entertainment events from around the world while evaluating case study examples and analyzing best practice models. Combining theory with practice, you’ll be put to the test by participating in Dean’s many theatre and dance productions, diverse events produced by the Arts and Entertainment Management Club, and other campus organizations.

Theatre
Dean’s Theatre program is one of the best in New England and one of the few to offer concentrations in Acting, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre, and Theatre Studies. Acting
Providing you with the skills necessary to compete in the theatre, ourActing program is built around demanding conservatory-style training, which combines the best of Stanislavski, Chekov, Meisner, Lecoq, Fitzmaurice, Alexander, and more. However, in your acting studios, you won’t just focus on performing the classics, period styles, modern drama, or acting for the camera. You will strengthen your capacity for expression through coursework that includes voice work, movement classes, text analysis, and theatre studies courses.

Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre is one of the most exciting and demanding genres in
the performing arts. At Dean, our rigorous program gets you ready to become a triple threat: a singer, dancer, and actor. To prepare you for the spotlight, your coursework will include private, individualized voice training to help you develop a concrete, healthy vocal technique as well as vocal coaching to help you act the song. You’ll take dance technique courses in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, or Pilates, and you’ll have the opportunity to explore choreography. As a performer, you’ll also cultivate strong technical skills in acting and develop your ability to integrate all those proficiencies with ease, expressiveness, and authenticity in a range of material from operetta to rock.
