What you put in your portfolio primarily depends on what the specific college requires. Some will want portraits, stills, graphic, and/or organic work. It’s best to check the specific requirements at the colleges by visiting their website and thoroughly reading through their listed requirements for art student. Also, visit the NACAC website, as there’s a performing and visual arts fair every year all over the country where admission representatives are glad to give you feedback on your portfolio. Whatever it is you end up submitting, just ensure it is your best work and that you feel confident it showcases your skills and makes you proud to show it off.
