Saint Joseph’s College of Maine is situated on 474 acres along the shore of Sebago Lake, just 18 miles from Portland and two hours north of Boston. Founded in 1912 by the Sisters of Mercy, we are Maine’s only Catholic college with nearly 1,000 students.
We provide a values-centered education that serves students’ curiosity for knowledge, their spiritual well-being, and their desire to give back to the community. We encourage a partnership among students, faculty, and staff that sets a high standard for academic achievement and engagement. Students speak of feeling “at home” and having the chance to participate and take on leadership roles at Saint Joseph’s. Whether it’s signing up for intramurals, finding volunteer opportunities through the Mercy Center, or joining a student club, campus life provides many opportunities.
