Campus life at a Catholic college will provide more opportunities to explore and understand religion and organized religions’ effects on history and on current issues. At many Catholic colleges, there are students from a multitude of religious backgrounds, and students are encouraged to explore their faith through religious services, retreats, and clubs. Catholic colleges also seek to provide programming that incorporates Catholicism and contemporary issues, as well as treating religion itself as a contemporary issue. For example, a Catholic school may provide programming around understanding Islam during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Often, Catholic colleges tackle the tough political issues of the day looking at the issues through the lens of Church teachings.
