Founded in 1865, the University of Maine is a public land and sea grant institution. Programs are offered through the Maine Business School and five colleges: College of Engineering; College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, and Agriculture; College of Education and Human Development; College of Liberal Arts; and the Honors College. The 650-acre main campus of the flagship university is located in Orono, five miles north of Bangor.
