Fun Facts

  • The "sibling rivalry" noted between Brigham Young University -- Provo and the University of Utah is surprisingly accurate—Brigham Young is their "father," having ostensibly founded them both.
  • In 1924 Brigham Young University -- Provo owned two live cougars (their mascot) that would prowl the sidelines of BYU games. But the pair got loose in 1929, killing two dogs and stalking local livestock! Probably why they stick with the lovable costumed Cosmo the Cougar these days...
