Your future means everything

College is an investment in your future, and at Randolph-Macon College, we make sure that investment pays off.

Yellow Jackets receive a personalized liberal arts education that equips them with knowledge for a variety of career paths while developing the technical skills and gaining the hands-on experience necessary for making an impact in whatever field they choose. Whether you see yourself becoming a systems engineer, nurse practitioner, history teacher, or graphic designer, you’ll graduate having mastered the tools you need to succeed in your first job and beyond.

Flexibility is our strength
Preparing for tomorrow means being flexible today, and the Randolph-Macon experience allows students the flexibility to follow their curiosity wherever it leads. We offer over 56 areas of study—including pre-professional programs like Pre-law and Pre-med—along with the freedom to build exciting connections across disciplines so students are primed to meet complex problems with inventive solutions. With so much room to explore, it’s no wonder many of our students choose to double-major. Why not design a curriculum that’s as unique as you are?

Small school, big opportunities
While the Randolph-Macon community is small, the options here are limitless. An 11:1 student-faculty ratio and average class size of 16 means professors really get to know their students. Outside the classroom, Yellow Jackets can join more than 100 student organizations, spanning from Greek life to community service groups, from cooking clubs to intramural sports. And because of our size, we can focus on connecting students with as many opportunities as possible. Here, landing undergraduate research fellowships, study abroad trips, and competitive internships is the norm—not the exception.

Randolph-Macon gives you the EDGE
R-MC’s nationally ranked career center, the EDGE, provides personalized career coaching beginning at freshman orientation and continuing through graduation. Once you become a Yellow Jacket, you’ll receive a custom experience tailored to help you reach your post-graduation goals, whether you want to enter the workplace immediately or attend graduate school first. Working alongside faculty mentors and career coaches, you’ll take part in an intensive two-day Career Bootcamp, network with alumni who know the ins and outs of your field, participate in mock job interviews, polish your cover letter, and gain the skills and confidence to wow employers for years to come.

The Center of the Universe
Randolph-Macon is located just 15 minutes north of Richmond, Virginia, in the scenic town of Ashland. Home to historic streets, highly rated farm-to-table restaurants, and a kind community of people Yellow Jackets come to know as neighbors, Ashland gives you big-city access without big-city hassles. Take advantage of the Amtrak running through town to visit Washington, DC, 90 minutes to the north or plan a weekend trip to the beach or mountains—both within a two-hour drive. Our convenient location is why Ashland is affectionately known as “The Center of the Universe.”

Alumni that give back
When you graduate, you’ll join the ranks of one of the most passionate and active alumni communities in the nation. Every year, our graduates rank among the national leaders in alumni giving, all because Yellow Jackets love seeing this school thrive with each incoming class. In fact, R-MC alumni treat current students like family. You’ll interact with them on campus, at tailgates, in the EDGE career center, during internships, and more. Becoming a Yellow Jacket means you’ll always have a home at the Hive.
