East Stroudsburg University is a university without walls. We remain inspired by the grandeur of the Pocono region that has been home to thousands of our students and graduates for over a century. Our purpose is to create an environment where each and every student can learn, grow, and achieve.
Academics
ESU offers 58 undergraduate programs in four different colleges. There are additional opportunities for accelerated graduation, online education, and alternative-campus learning. You'll find a unique combination of big and small here—big university facilities and small school personal attention from professors.
Research
Beyond the classroom and in every discipline, ESU students enhance their educational experience by participating in research and creative activity. The University offers undergraduate, graduate, and faculty research opportunities as well as a diverse array of creative activities that the campus community members originate, appreciate, and celebrate.
Campus
The University has 67 buildings located on 258 acres in the East Stroudsburg Borough and Smithfield Township, which includes academic facilities, six residence halls (housing more than 1,600 students), a 1,000-seat dining hall, a student center, and a recreation center. The Student Activity Association, Inc. owns Stony Acres, an off-campus student recreation area that sits on 119 acres near Marshalls Creek and includes a lodge and a small lake.
Student life
Students are the lifeblood of ESU. Join your fellow Warriors in the Mattioli Rec Center over a pick-up game of basketball, grab coffee with a faculty or staff member in our on-campus Starbucks, join or start a club or organization, play a club sport like rugby or ice hockey, engage in experiences that broaden your mind and appreciation for diversity and inclusion, or start your own business.
