Make a difference in the health of individuals and communities. UConn’s special programs in Medicine and Dental Medicine provide four years of undergraduate preparation that lead seamlessly into graduate studies at our Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine. The Office of Undergraduate Research helps students develop opportunities to engage in independent or collaborative research with premier educators, entrepreneurs, and strategists. UConn’s faculty are prestigious experts from across every field. They’re dedicated to helping you make an impact across academic disciplines while working alongside you in the lab, in the classroom, and during their office hours. With the help of our caring and attentive staff and academic advisors, you’ll grow as a person and student during your time at UConn, and beyond.

At UConn, the percentage of students who live on campus is one of the highest among public universities. Here, you’re bound to forge close relationships with your peers, professors, and advisors. When you live on campus, you have a community of Huskies around you, and you also have access to experiences and opportunities created with you in mind. From Learning Communities and collaborative areas to study rooms and recreational spaces, our campuses are built to accommodate your needs—and with 700 clubs and organizations to choose from, it’s easy to get involved on campus.

Being a Husky means living the traditions: rubbing Jonathan’s nose for good luck; indulging in One Ton Sundae; and sledding down Horsebarn Hill. At UConn, Huskymania is a real and constant force around campus, whether you’re an eager fan, casual athlete, or hardcore competitor. When you have 21 Division I varsity teams and 23 national championships, it comes with the territory.

Deciding to apply to the University of Connecticut means you understand the importance of a UConn degree and where it can lead. Every year, we strive to create an incoming class of the highest quality—a diverse student body comprised of intellectually curious, highly motivated, and academically accomplished individuals of strong moral character. Consideration is given to the entire application, including GPA, class rank, SAT or ACT score (if provided; UConn is test-optional through fall of 2026), required essay, extracurricular activities, and optional letters of recommendation. This allows us to gain a full understanding and measurement of an applicant's potential to be a successful UConn Husky.
