It’s all here

Central Connecticut State University has it all—the activities, opportunities, and fun of a large D-I state university combined with the personalized learning, support, and success of a small private institution. It’s no wonder students like Kassandra Fruin say, “There’s so much about Central that I want to tell people. It gives students everything they need. Central showed me how far I can go.”

Affordability is key
In addition to being the oldest and largest university in the state system, CCSU is also the most affordable. The University was ranked the #1 school in Connecticut for affordability by School.com and a “Best Value School” by College Factual. The Office of Financial Aid administers generous support, awarding more than $100 million to students each year. This, along with our already low tuition, keeps your costs down.

Amazing academics and personal support
Our four schools and colleges offer more than 100 academic programs, each providing the tools, opportunities, and support to enable students to fulfill their dreams.

CCSU professors are dedicated scholars and have earned national and international

awards for their research, but they consider teaching their first calling. As experts in their fields, they know how to make learning exciting and rewarding. Our low 14:1 student-faculty ratio keeps most classes small, with an average class size of 25 students. This means professors know their students personally and can help them secure internships, clinical placements, co-ops, and other real-world experiences.

CCSU’s academic programs have top-line accreditation. Our Business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (only 5% of business schools achieve this status), and our Education programs are accredited by the highly regarded Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation. In addition, CCSU is one of only two public institutions in Connecticut with undergraduate Engineering programs—and the only one to offer a major in Robotics & Mechatronics.

A fantastic community
At CCSU, students join a thriving global community, one that’s built upon the tenets of acceptance, opportunity, and Blue Devil pride!

The majority of first-year students live on campus in one of our nine residence halls. They experience the best of campus life by participating in our 150 clubs and organizations, numerous leadership development opportunities, and athletic programs. In addition to club and intramural sports, CCSU’s 16 NCAA Division I athletic teams are a major source of campus excitement. Blue Devil football, men’s basketball, women’s and men’s soccer, men’s track and cross-country, and our women’s swimming & diving teams have been frequent Northeast Conference champions.

Central’s beautiful 126-acre campus is located in New Britain, Connecticut, only 15 minutes from Hartford and two hours from Boston and New York City.

Career and life success
Graduates of CCSU join a distinguished group of alumni—leaders and change agents in virtually every field. As a Central student, you’ll benefit from this expansive alumni network. Those who came before you will offer insight, inspiration, and direct support as you launch your professional life.

What to expect from a CCSU education
Satisfaction: 94% of graduates who are three to five years out of school say CCSU prepared them well for graduate or professional school.

Professional earnings
Average starting salary for CCSU graduates: $59,000
Average mid-career salary for CCSU graduates: $103,000, according to PayScale.com
